Mr. Kaylon Young was appointed as the Acting Ports Commissioner. A seasoned professional with extensive experience in the maritime industry, Mr. Young took on this pivotal role, advancing the initiatives and accomplishments of the Authority.

He brought with him an impressive background in the maritime sector, holding a Master’s degree in Maritime Affairs with a specialization in Maritime Law and Policy from the prestigious World Maritime University (WMU). With over a decade of experience at the Belize Port Authority, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment, particularly in overseeing vessel inspections and Port State Control operations.

Mr. Kaylon Young served as Acting Ports Commissioner, building on the strong foundation laid by his predecessors. He was committed to enhancing the safety, security, and efficiency of Belize’s ports, ensuring they met international standards and contributed to the national economy.

With a focus on advanced technologies, port infrastructure development, and stronger stakeholder relationships, Mr. Young’s leadership was key to navigating future challenges and opportunities.

He expressed gratitude for his appointment and was determined to continue enhancing maritime operations, safety, and security, ensuring Belize’s ports remained integral to the nation’s growth.
