The Belize Port Authority (BPA) is a statutory body operating under the portfolio of the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy & Logistics, led by Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Public Utilities, Energy & Logistics.
The Belize Port Authority is governed by a Board of Directors responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight of the Authority’s operations and policies. The Board consists of a Chairman, two Ex-officio Members, the Financial Secretary and the Chief Executive Officer, and seven additional members appointed by the Minister. Board members are appointed for a term of two (2) years and bring a range of expertise and experience to support the Authority’s mandate.
Under the leadership of Hon. Michel Chebat and the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy & Logistics, the Belize Port Authority continues to strengthen the country’s maritime sector through sound governance, enhanced regulatory oversight, and initiatives aimed at improving port efficiency, safety, and service delivery. These efforts contribute to Belize’s broader goals of economic growth, connectivity, and sustainable development.
