Scarlet Lady Makes Historic Inaugural Call to Belize

On March 18, 2025, the Scarlet Lady of Virgin Voyages made its inaugural call to Belize, marking a significant milestone for the country’s cruise tourism industry. The vessel arrived with 2,620 passengers and 1,146 crew members, under the command of Captain Matthew Hudson.

Caribbean Shipping Agencies Ltd- Belize, the official port agent, was represented at the event by CEO and Director of Operations Stanley Longsworth Jr., along with Director and Cruise Operations Manager Nicola Longsworth. To commemorate this occasion, a special onboard ceremony was held, attended by key stakeholders, including representatives from various governmental offices, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB), and Fort Street Tourism Village.

The Belize Port Authority was represented by Port State Control Officer Mr. Vince Castillo, who boarded the vessel earlier in the day.

This milestone underscores Belize’s growing prominence as a premier cruise destination. The arrival of the Scarlet Lady not only strengthens the country’s position in the global cruise market but also opens new opportunities for tourism and economic growth.
