The Spirit of Discovery, a 58,119 GT cruise ship operated by Saga Cruises, made its entrance into Belize today, carrying 896 passengers. As one of the largest ships in Saga Cruises’ fleet, Spirit of Discovery was built by Meyer Werft between 2018 and 2019 and began operations in 2019. The vessel currently sails under the flag of the United Kingdom (UK).
To commemorate the ship’s arrival, a special ceremony was held on board this morning. During the event, Caribbean Shipping Agencies, Ltd. – Belize (CSA), the ship’s local port agent, along with the Belize Port Authority and other officials, exchanged plaques with Captain Franko Papic in recognition of the occasion.
