The Belize Port Authority(BPA) is the designated maritime authority responsible for ensuring that the country fulfills its coastal state obligations. Through its Port State Control (PSC) Officers, the BPA ensures compliance with international maritime conventions and standards.
On Wednesday, May 28, and Thursday, May 29, our PSC Officers conducted inspections at the Port of Big Creek as part of their ongoing regulatory oversight. These inspections targeted foreign flagged vessels entering Belizean ports to verify adherence to international maritime regulations.
The two vessels inspected were:
•The KENNINGTON, a tanker offloading liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in support of national energy supply continuity
•The MAPLE ARROW, a general cargo vessel
