From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence

WORLD MARITIME DAY 2026 – From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence
The Belize Port Authority extends its heartfelt appreciation to all organizations, schools, partners, and individuals who contributed to the success of our World Maritime Day 2026 Maritime Expo. World Maritime Day is more than a day of recognition. It is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the maritime sector to our livelihoods, our economy, our communities, and our sustainable development. It also reminds us of the shared responsibility we have to promote a safe, innovative, and sustainable maritime industry.
A special thank you goes to the schools, teachers, and students who participated in this year’s initiative. The students were truly the highlight of the Expo, actively engaging through questions, suggestions, discussions, and valuable perspectives on Belize’s maritime sector. Their curiosity and enthusiasm demonstrated the importance of inspiring the next generation of maritime professionals.
Under the theme “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence,” students had the opportunity to:
▪️ Explore careers and pathways within the maritime sector
▪️ Learn about maritime safety and responsibility
▪️ Understand the importance of protecting our marine environment
▪️ Discover how innovation is shaping the future of the maritime industry
▪️ Engage with professionals and organizations working across Belize’s maritime sector
A heartfelt thank you to Team BPA for the dedication and teamwork that went into making this year’s Maritime Expo and activities at our Headquarters a success. From logistics and coordination to preparation, administration, and execution, every contribution played an important part in bringing the event together.
A special acknowledgement goes to our Registration Department, which played an important role in the Expo by providing information and services to members of the public and offering special opportunities related to vessel registration and licensing.
