XLVIII REPICA 2026

The XLVIII Reunión Portuaria del Istmo Centroamericano (REPICA) was held from September 7–11, 2026, at the Crowne Plaza Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The event was organized by COCATRAM in partnership with the host institution, Autoridad Portuaria Dominicana (APORDOM).

The event brought together 397 participants from more than 14 countries, including , with representatives from across Central America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Asia, and North America. Discussions focused on key areas including port competitiveness, digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence, smart ports, sustainability, security, logistics, and regional cooperation.

Representing the Belize Port Authority (BPA) was Ms. Jaeda Sutherland, Project Lead, who participated in the event and delivered a presentation highlighting Port of Belize Limited and Port of Big Creek, providing an overview of Belize’s port sector and its role within the country’s maritime and logistics network.

REPICA 2026 provided valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and regional collaboration among maritime and port stakeholders.

A key outcome of REPICA 2026 was the designation of Belize as host of the XLIX REPICA, scheduled for September 27 to October 1, 2027. The hosting of this regional meeting will further position Belize within the regional maritime community and facilitate continued dialogue and knowledge-sharing among port and maritime stakeholders
