The Belize Port Authority has become aware that a recording is circulating via social media that cargo vessels will cease calling to Belize as of 22 March, 2020. This is false and an irresponsible rumor, and is to be rejected as such.
The Belize Port Authority hereby confirms to the public that cargo ship shall continue their calls to Belize and that there has been no indication of any interruption of cargo coming into Belize.
The Belize Port Authority reiterates that there has been no cancellation nor suspension of cargo ship calls and advises the public to pay attention only to official releases.
