The Belize Port Authority through the work of the Training and Research Department held its first in house Navigation and Charts Training hosted by the Chairman of the Board Ret’d Major Jones and fellow Board member Mr. John Grinage. The aim was to equip relevant personnel with enhanced maritime skills in reading and interpreting nautical charts, which offer crucial data on water depths, coastlines, tides, and potential hazards paramount for sailors, as it ensures a safe and efficient voyage. Water Taxi members were also present to absorb the essential information provided during the first training session of a four-part series. Key stakeholders, including water taxi operators will be invited to all subsequent sessions.
