3rd Regional Table-Top Exercise for Improved Disaster Risk Management for Caribbean Ports

The Belize Port Authority extends its recognition to Mr. Kenrick Velasquez for his participation in the 3rd Regional Tabletop Exercise for Enhanced Disaster Risk Management for Caribbean Ports, held from March 19 to 20, 2024 which brought together experts from regional and international ports.

The exercise started with opening remarks from Program Manager Ms. Mona Swoboda, Inter-American Committee on Ports Organization of American States (OAS), Ambassador Candace Bond, Embassy of the United States of America, and Mr. Lyle Alexander, Chairman, Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.

Improved Disaster Risk Management for Caribbean Ports involves comprehensive strategies such as risk assessment, infrastructure resilience, early warning systems, community engagement, capacity building, coordination, technological solutions, and policy frameworks. These measures aim to enhance port resilience, minimize disruptions to maritime trade, and ensure the safety of lives and livelihoods in the face of natural disasters.
