Port-to-Port Sustainability Knowledge Exchange Pilot

The Belize Port Authority (BPA), under the Ministry of Public Utilities , Energy, Logistics, in partnership with the Port of Seattle and Caribbean Shipping Lanes (CSL), officially launches the Port-to-Port Sustainability Knowledge Exchange Pilot.

The initiative brings together professionals from Belize’s maritime sector, including participants from the BPA, with subject-matter experts from the Port of Seattle and CSL to exchange knowledge, experiences, and practical approaches to port sustainability and maritime decarbonization.

Through virtual technical workshops and planned technical exchange activities, participants will explore sustainable approaches to port planning and management, energy systems, emissions monitoring, infrastructure, and long-term investment, while considering how relevant practices can be adapted to Belize’s operating environment.

The programme supports institutional capacity-building, knowledge-sharing, and continued collaboration, contributing to Belize’s ongoing efforts toward a more sustainable and resilient maritime sector.

This initiative represents an important opportunity for technical cooperation and shared learning, connecting international experience with Belizean expertise to support practical progress in maritime sustainability.
