The Belize Port Authority is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kaylon Young as the Acting Ports Commissioner. Mr. Young, a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the maritime industry, will take on this pivotal role, continuing to advance the initiatives and accomplishments of the Authority.
Mr. Young brings to this position an extensive background in the maritime sector, with a Master’s Degree in Maritime Affairs, specializing in Maritime Law and Policy from the prestigious World Maritime University (WMU). With over a decade of experience working with the Belize Port Authority, he has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment, overseeing vessel inspections and Port State Control operations with unwavering dedication.
In his new role as Acting Ports Commissioner, Mr. Young will build on the solid foundation laid by his predecessors. He is committed to enhancing the safety, security, and efficiency of Belize’s ports, ensuring they meet international standards and continue to contribute significantly to the national economy. His vision includes the implementation of advanced technologies, further development of port infrastructure, and strengthening of stakeholder relationships to foster a more robust maritime sector.
