Our week one summer camp in San Pedro was a tremendous success! We welcomed our largest group yet, with 28 enthusiastic campers who eagerly participated and demonstrated their maritime knowledge. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the campers for giving us the chance to share information about the Belize Port Authority, the various organizations we collaborate with, and the services we offer. In return, you taught us so much and brought out the best in our instructors. A special thanks to Minister Andre Perez Ministry of Blue Economy and Disaster Risk Management, Bananas on the Beach at Caribeville for hosting us at your luxurious resort, San Pedro Lions Club for providing your spacious venue, and Hol Chan Marine Reserve and San Pedro Town Council for sponsoring fruits, snacks, lunch and beverages. Our incredible team from the Belize Port Authority included our Research and Training Officer Ms. Elizabeth Ranguy, Port State Control Officer Mr. Jose Puc, Public Relations Officer Ms. Lisa Duran, Sgt. Danna Ciego from the Belize Defence Force, and the campers’ favorite, OCdt Herman Aldana from the Belize Coast Guard. We look forward to next year. San Pedro, you were an incredible experience filled with joy and enthusiasm!
